Hello Sandra! Thank you so
much for visiting Written Butterfly with me today! It’s such a pleasure to chat with you about your trilogy!
So tell me…
It’s beyond love at first sight the day geneticist Richard Hall spots secretary Eva Fjelstad. They have so much in common—a love of rare steak, red wine and music, and they work for the renowned, yet enigmatic research corporation Sub Rosa.
The beauty of being a bright young geneticist is that Richard has access to cutting-edge technology, including a newly developed soulmate serum. A sip of the serum and a brush of hands confirm Richard and Eva are destined to be together.
But there’s a problem.
Sub Rosa in the swinging sixties isn’t as peace-loving as it seems, and when Richard uncovers corruption at the very core of the company—a secret that goes to the heart of his parents’ disappearance—he’s faced with a decision no man wants to make.
For Sub Rosa personal assistant, Eden Freberg, kissing men is like making out with a mannequin—cold, lifeless, disconnected. That is, until she meets alluring geneticist Rick Hartman. From their first touch, they connect like long lost lovers, fitting together like missing pieces of a puzzle.
Eden is on an express train to beyond-this-world bliss—married, and with twins in less than a year—until Rick derails their perfect life, revealing corruption at the heart of Sub Rosa. The transnational corporation plans to wipe the Jade and Violet vampire clans from existence, even though they pose no significant threat to humans. And Rick’s determined to make things right.
But that’s not the only problem.
On their journey of discovery, Eden and Rick unearth a forty-year-old secret that shatters their identities and threatens their lives. Will their pasts catch up to them before Rick has a chance to gain retribution?
Banding together is the safest, most successful path to freedom…
The killing of an allied researcher sends quarter-vampire geneticist, Rick Hartman, and his soulmate, Eden Freberg, into a spiral of desperation. Compelled to relocate to Norway with his young family, Rick infiltrates the Sub Rosa compound, determined to free the persecuted and unjustly imprisoned vampires.
With Rick, Eden and their six-month-old twins in renewed and immediate danger, can he find a way for the warring Jade and Violet vampire clans to work together to help him set them and his family free, finally bringing Sub Rosa to justice for their lifetime of sins?
A sneak-peak snippet from Capture, Discover and
Reckoning…
A heatwave soared under her skin and she licked her lips. “I did.” Two could play his titillating game.
He shifted in his seat, giving away exactly where his mind went—the dirtiest end of the gutter. She couldn’t help but smile. Now he knew how she felt being around him with his sexy masculine scent, irresistible green eyes and alluring, muscular body. A small moan escaped her lips and she covered it up with a cough.
Richard shifted closer. Would he make a move? Would he kiss her again? Between her hammering heart and labored breathing, she was seconds away from having a full-blown desire attack.
“What?” Her voice sounded breathy, her body still recovering from his silent, unfulfilled promise of a kiss.
Richard reached up and caressed the corner of her mouth, sweeping away a ball of biscuit.
How embarrassing!
He cupped her face. “Saving it for later on?”
Her heart thumped so loud, he could probably hear it over the chattering speaker in his window. He tilted her chin up, his gaze switching between her eyes and her lips and he dipped his mouth to hers. His gentle kiss brushed her lips, tentative this time, as though checking to make sure she wanted it as much as he did. And she did, maybe more.
Eva parted her lips, welcoming his tongue, and she wound her arms around his neck. A groan sounded in his throat and she pressed into him, desperate to hear him do it again. And he did—deeper, longer.
Richard sank his hand into her hair and tugged just enough to set off a wave of warm tingles rolling across her scalp. He delved his tongue farther into her mouth, stroking and sucking on hers until he teased out a moan. His other hand traveled an achingly slow path along her curves and came to rest on her bare leg.
Each of her nerve endings pinged, like scoring in a game of pinball, and he was the expert player. She wanted to shed her clothes and be naked with him. Suddenly she didn’t care what society thought.
Being present in the sensual moment with Richard mattered most.
Where had this extra-sexualized Eva sprung from? Obviously, she’d been stuck somewhere deep in her psyche, so deep she hadn’t even realized her alter ego existed. It was like she represented Excalibur and Richard, King Arthur, the only man who could free her sexy side from stone.
The hematite, diamond and ruby soulmate ring on her finger flared with heat and she shifted in her seat, her heart slamming against her ribcage. Either she made a swift exit or stayed and took a huge risk.
“Um…I really should head home. It’s getting late and…” Eden looked around for her things.
She went to stand up and he grabbed her hand. “Don’t go.”
A rush of heat and electricity sizzled up her arm, and an overwhelming yearning blazed inside her core. Her mind buzzed. She stopped, still sitting on the edge of the couch, looked down at his hand on hers, then up at him.
His gaze shifted between her eyes and her lips. With his other hand, he reached up, caressed her cheek and leaned in.
The second his soft, inviting lips met hers, they melted away every hesitation, every rational thought in her head. The skin-on-skin contact seemed to set off a chemical reaction and ignited an untapped store of passion, her feelings rushing to the surface like an erupting geyser.
Eden’s animal instincts took over, and she threw her arms around Rick’s waist and crushed her mouth to his, her response matching his intensity and fervor.
When they finally pulled apart, they just stared at each other. Before now, she had never been lustfully out of control. Did that mean he was the one? Maybe he was just an amazing kisser?
“Where are you going?” he asked.
“Home. I think I should…” She couldn’t look at him. She didn’t want him to see her face burning up.
“Please stay. You’re too tired to drive home. I’d never forgive myself if anything happened to you.” He inched closer and held her hand. “It would be irresponsible of me to let you go. I’ll set you up in the spare bedroom and you can drive home in the morning.”
The tingles in her arm hummed, strong and persistent, like she’d been freed from a deep, numbing sleep. Eden’s gaze met his and her breath hitched. God, so gorgeous. Was it possible for Rick to get more attractive by the minute?
“Look… It’s totally up to you but I’d prefer you stay for your own safety and…because I want you to. I promise I won’t hassle you…much.” That devilish grin on his face screamed dangerous. Disarming.
“We’ll deal with it then. There’s no point worrying about something that may or may not happen. I swore to keep you and the kids safe, first and foremost, and that’s one thing I won’t compromise on. Plus, even if you could safely go in my place, I wouldn’t allow it—those brown contact lenses sting like fuck. It feels like having shampoo constantly dripping into your eyes. And I wouldn’t want you to ruin your makeup.”
She laughed, sending a tear rolling down her cheek.
“Actually, that reminds me. I better go and put them in.” Rick swiped away the teardrop that had rolled onto her cheek, pressed a swift kiss to her lips and disappeared into the en suite.
Within seconds he stood in the doorway, the light glowing behind him as though he was some sort of angel…or superhero. “You’ve got to see this.”
She followed him into the compact bathroom and he pointed to a tissue on the vanity, containing what remained of the brown contact lenses he’d taken out the previous night. He’d never gotten a chance to put them in the bin, not with her impromptu blow job.
Delicious memories of him coming in her mouth, then lifting her up, throwing her on the bed and returning the favor surged into her mind. She indulged, just for a moment, then forced herself to stop and focus on the lenses.
They looked thin, cloudy, patchy, like mini jigsaw puzzles with pieces missing. A bit like their memories.
“I realize they’re disposable but…what happened to them?” Eden asked.
“Either they’re really bad quality, which would explain the price, or my body chemistry has caused their erosion. Probably a bit of both, though I’m thinking it’s more my body chemistry.”
