A Vampire's Cure in Sandra Carmel's DISCOVER (up for Pre-Order!)

When a personal assistant’s perfect life is shattered by a forty-year-old secret, will she be able to pick up the pieces and resurrect her world?

1.     Tell us about the world your novel is set in.

Discover is all about two warring vampire clans – the Violets (they have dark hair and violet-toned eyes) and the Jades (they have fair hair and jade-toned eyes) – and them trying to blend into human society and avoid capture by a cutting-edge, human-run organization called Sub Rosa. The story takes place in Norway and Australia.

2.     What makes your world/character different from other books in the same genre?

  • Humans capture vampires, experiment on them and try to eradicate the vampire gene.
  • The more vampire genetics, the more white blood cells a vampire has, which means he/she looks paler, heals better and has less tolerance to sunlight.
  • The cure for vampirism is discovered.

3.     Is this book part of a series?

Yes. Discover is book two of The Cure trilogy.

4.     Did you use any historical facts in your book?

I reference the Second World War and links to the Nazi experimentations.

5.     Are you planning on writing more in the paranormal world?

I’ve written a steamy time travel, paranormal romance novella called Natural Awakening but other than that, I don’t have any other plans to write more paranormal stories at this stage. All my other ideas have been steamy contemporary romance with a BDSM and/or menage flavor.

6.     What are your upcoming projects?

I’m currently editing Reckoning, book three of the trilogy!

Blurb

Recalling the past is the only way to repair the future…

For Sub Rosa personal assistant, Eden Freberg, kissing men is like making out with a mannequin—cold, lifeless, disconnected. That is, until she meets alluring geneticist, Rick Hartman. From their first touch, they connect like long lost lovers, fitting together like missing pieces of a puzzle.

Eden is on an express train to beyond-this-world bliss—married, and with twins in less than a year—until Rick derails their perfect life, revealing corruption at the heart of Sub Rosa. The transnational corporation plans to wipe the Jade and Violet vampire clans from existence, even though they pose no significant threat to humans. And Rick’s determined to make things right.

But that’s not the only problem.

On their journey of discovery, Eden and Rick unearth a forty-year-old secret that shatters their identities and threatens their lives. Will their pasts catch up to them before Rick has a chance to gain retribution?

Bio

Sandra Carmel is an Australian-based author of engaging, thought-provoking romance novels, novellas, short stories and poetry, who writes for the pleasure of stimulating herself and others with words. An obsession with classic romance novels, particularly Jane Eyre, combined with marrying her own Mr Rochester were key motivators in commencing her romance writing journey. So far, she has taken the scenic route from contemporary to paranormal to erotic, creating provocative stories that delve beneath the surface of desire. She reads and writes a lot, frequently disrupted by her ever-attentive, cheeky cats, and sinfully amorous husband.
